Block 43 Project Breaks Ground in South Waterfront District

A groundbreaking ceremony commencing the start of construction of the Block 43 mixed use project was held on May 28, 2014. The project site is located at 3850 SW Moody in the South Waterfront District.

When complete, the 199-unit project will consist of five stories of wood framing above a concrete podium and subgrade parking garage. The development will include 1,500 s.f. of street-level retail space. The transit-oriented development is adjacent to two stops on the Portland Streetcar line. Block 43 units will feature luxury urban finishes and offer a wireless lounge, 24-hour fitness center, and rooftop terrace with views of the Willamette River, Mount Hood and the Portland skyline.

The project developer is Alamo Manhattan based in Dallas, Texas and the project architect Hensley Lamkin Rachel, Inc.

Industrial Home Project Featured in DJC

R&H’s Industrial Home project was featured in today’s Daily Journal of Commerce.

“R&H Construction is renovating the 120-year-old Industrial Home building at 200 S.E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. for First Western Development of Edmonds, Wash. The FFA Architecture and Interiors-designed project includes installation of four shotcrete shear walls and two steel brace frames, new roof trusses, installation of an elevator and cutting of new windows and entrances to the building, and restoration of masonry and stucco. Seattle-based outdoor gear retailer Evo will occupy a large portion of the three-story, 26,000-square-foot building. Work began in March and is slated for completion in September.”
